Fancy Dress Ideas - Top Costumes

Pirate costumes are also quite easy to make with a few accessories to help, such as an eye patch, a bandana or a pirate hat.
Another top fancy dress idea is a Moulin Rouge costume, these were made popular by the movie of the same name, starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. You can make Moulin Rouge costumes cheeky and fun, and you can get some fabulous ready-to-wear costumes. Think of showgirls and the can-can, with lots of feathers and fishnets, and you'll have an idea of a Moulin Rouge costume.
Other themes based on films include the all-time favourite, The Wizard of Oz, and there are lots of famous characters to base a costume on. Dorothy is the most obvious Wizard of Oz character and the easiest costume but there are also costumes available for the other characters, the wizard, the Tin Man, the Lion, the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. This is a superb theme as the costumes available are loads of fun and very recognisable to everyone.
Another popular movie theme is Star Wars. You can get Star Wars costumes for pretty much every character from every movie, which means there is lots of choice to create a varied and fun costume party. From classic characters like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia costumes to more recent film characters such as the fabulous Darth Maul. Another extremely popular Star Wars costume for women is the white Padme Amidala outfit.
Another fantastic theme for top costumes is Super heroes, from films or the original comic books. This is a popular theme for both adults and children, as again there are loads of different super hero fancy dress costumes available and everyone has a favourite. Some examples are Spiderman, Batman, Mr Incredible, Iron Man, The Thing, and Wonder Woman.
