Volcanic Ash Forces Relocation Of Iron Man Premiere
The Iceland volcano erupting has caused trouble already, but it also has forced the Iron Man sequel premiere to move to Los Angeles from London. I doubt it will cause any studio heads or cast members to run for a low rate personal loan, as the grosses are probably not going to be affected. Iron Man 2 is one of the most awaited sequels for this year, and a delayed premiere isn't exactly going to stop that train from rolling.
Iron Man and other Marvel-ous comic based films
Marvel has become a powerhouse of action cinema. Fans and critics have adored some, and torn other Marvel films asunder. (While we're on the subject - let's be honest; Spider-Man 3 was awful.) The first Iron Man was one of their greatest successes, and studios would easily get guaranteed loans to make another.
What's next for Marvel?
Iron Man 2 premieres in May. The debut of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in the film. There's also speculation of a Fantastic Four reboot. A Thor film is already being shot, and a Wolverine sequel is also in the works. Marvel Studios also has Captain America, The Avengers, a Spiderman reboot, and a Deadpool film, starring Ryan Reynolds, planned.
Iron Man 2
The New York Times reports that the Iron Man 2 premiere will move from London to Los Angeles. Europe has become a troublesome flyzone due to the Iceland volcano eruption. Stars of Iron Man 2 will have to settle for glitz, glamour, and smog in L.A. instead of the glitz, glamour and bad weather of London. Though the volcano has certainly interrupted air travel, it isn't going to dent the grosses for Iron Man 2. There's no reason the second won't do as well as the first.
